Simple syrup is, well... simple. A combination of equal parts sugar and water, these can be enhanced with most any herb or fruit and will keep in the refrigerator for about a week.

INGREDIENTS
ONE PART SUGAR
ONE PART WATER
A SPRIG OF HERBS OF YOUR CHOOSING
A BIT OF YOUR FAVORITE FRUIT (OPTIONAL)...LIKE BLACKBERRIES OR PEACH, ETC. - EQUAL TO 1/2 THE AMOUNT OF SUGAR YOU USE.
DIRECTIONS
Combine the sugar and water (and fruit if you are including it). Into a small pan.
Bring to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Turn off heat and add the herbs and let them steep for about 20 minutes.
Strain into a funnel and into a container.
