This project was a ground-up build and I was brought in after the architects had completed a couple drafts of the plan. The homeowners wanted me to select the finishes, fixtures and furnishings for every room, including the outdoor spaces.
You can see that, even in the before shots, the house has lots of large windows working for it so it is blessed with lots of natural light. I wanted to keep that going with an airy, lived-in yet contemporary style. White paint, natural-feeling floors, and textured nude furniture was the slate and then, of course, the addition of textiles, art, and greenery that had some color and prints to bring the space alive.
Window shades are entirely from my line at Smith & Noble and in this space are all motorized and controlled by remote or by voice. I've linked below whenever possible the items and sources to most everything I used, and have also included a linked gallery of designs inspired by this space that you can easily find and get for your own home.
